About Darkout

It’s already been quite a ride for some of us, slaving away in our basements, attics, bathrooms, etc. Coding, painting, modelling… not the one with hot girls… though we made one!

But seriously now, this is our passion, a dream for most of us and a little of the old familiar for some. We’d like to think that what we are creating will be fun and exciting for everyone. Naturally this is based on extreme market research, which includes all of our family, cousins, aunts, their dog and a few people we have let into the inner circle. The circle which is now expanding to all of you!

Ok maybe we won’t reveal every little secret the game holds right away, we want you to discover them the way it was meant to be, in the game! But ,we are not quite there yet, though we are bursting with excitement and had to tell the world we are here! We are here! Down Horton…

Darkout is for those of us who love exploring, tinkering, creating, killing monsters, upgrading tech to utter awesomeness, and generally kicking some a$$! Shadow a$$ in this case!

Darkout Official Twitch TV channel is up and streamings are coming!

We are glad to announce our Official Let's Play Darkout sessions on Twitch TV, where you will find our testers and members of the dev. team playing and talking about the game! we will discuss about:

Game strategies and tricks.
State of the development.
Coming updates.
Invite other developers to try out Darkout.
Do Q&A sessions.

We firmly believe this new channel will help a lot to know us and the game better!

Wanna join our Darkout IRC channel ?

We thought about creating an IRC channel, where we all can have a more direct contact, and the possibility to ask anything about the game, from technical issues, to tricks and discoveries.
The IRC will be complementing the forums as a communication tool.

I'm using the Hexchat client (free).
You have to set up the channel: irc.indieirc.net
Port is 6667
Then enter the command /join #darkout to enter!

New 1.0.5.4 update and the Official Darkout F.A.Q. document.

New 1.0.5.4 update is finally out! take a look at the most interesting additions:

-Optimized game start up to be about 50% faster
-Added new menu option to select a different character and world
-Added new ballistics physics. Currently only being used for the grenade launcher (trajectory helper soon to come!)
-Changed tar so that it catches on fire and turns into lava when it touches lava
-Added new data relics
-Added a scrollbar to the info popup GUI so you can now view past events
-Added keybind to F5 for manual save
